okay, the All-Star break has come and gone, so now we get to the good stuff! the second half of the season is always the make-or-break time for the NBA, and this year, we'll REALLY see it.
the big story of the first half of the season this year was definitely the Boston Celtics, led by KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. they burst out to the best start in franchise history, and at the break were PERFECT versus the west. speaking of which, the horse race out west yields some serious topics to discuss: the amazing rise of the New Orleans Hornets behind wonderkind point Chris Paul, the cold-war worthy arms race of monster trades for Dallas, the Lakers and Phoenix, and you always gotta have one eye on the Spurs...
so anyways, with less than 30 games left, Who's Your pick for MVP? there's a poll to the right for ghettoManga NBA MVP voting. my pick is Kobe Bryant, but you can feel free to pick someone else. after all, being wrong is your God-given right as an American! but nah, really... lets argue about it! tell us WHY!!!!
4 cryin out loud, it's still a little early to start talking MVP-- but given the list you got, gotta go w/ Chris Paul. I'm always impressed by youngin's leading teams that were previously off the radar. Plus, the west is a TOUGH conference...
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm voting for Kobe simply because as much as I'm a Mavericks and Dirk fan, I think KB24 was snubbed last year. Kobe is having a MVP caliber season, but he has a better supporting cast this year, so I could also see how he wouldn't get it. If you were to ask me this 10 games from now, I would have to go with Chris Paul hands down. Steve Nash is my favorite player in the L, but I think CP3 is easily the best Point in the game right now. I challenge anyone out there to dispute that.
ReplyDeleteof COURSE it's early! how else can you say "i always said he would win" if you wait 'till the last minute!
ReplyDeleteonly players on good teams are ever considered, otherwise Lebron or Kobe would'a got it last year...
to me, Kobe is the man this season. he has made everyone on his team step up... hell, he EVEN inspired the front office to go out and get fisher and gasol with his trade demands.
chris paul is great. n'awlins is a great surprise for NBA fans this year, and i'm leaning to Byron Scott for coach of the year.
my MVP pick is a gamble:
Kobe is playing with a serious injury, so he could get knocked out of the running. but if he lasts long enough to finish the regular season, he's a lock!
