i'm not from Georgia. if i was, the name Joseph Epps, Jr. would be plastered across my brain! you've probably seen his work on teeshirts, Freaknic Fest illustrations, album covers for So-So Def or DJ Smurf, in the SOURCE, or any of the other gajillion places it can be found... but where ever you saw it, i'm sure it was DOPE! he sent me a friend request on mySpace today, and i became an INSTANT fan...
Epps has the perfect balance of exaggeration and naturalism in his figures, a strong grasp of the constantly changing world of hip hop fashion, and a knack for creating distinct characters. OH! and did i mention his comics? peep:
