  3. someone made a good point: Celtics have a lot of good firepower, but they never quite align properly when necessary. I say LA but with doubt because at any point Celtics can go," Hey! You play this role, I'll play this role and we'll meet in the middle."

    UPDATE:

on the strength of 24 pts from KG, and 22 each from Paul Pierce (15 in the second half), and 19 from Ray Allen, the Celtics take game 1, 98-88.

Kobe scored 24, but was really a non-factor (don't expect that to continue). after leaving w/ a knee injury in the 3rd, Pierce returned to the court and nailed back to back threes from the right wing.

Celtics won it with Defense, holding the Lakers to 30% shooting in the second half.

    celtics lead series 1-0

  5. I don't know. This whole thing could play out like Superman II. Kobe gets his powers taken until the last minute then crushes people's hands and throws s symbols off of his chest.

    To be continued.

I was thinking Lakers in 5. After all, as Chuck Barkley says, he's the damn closer. But, with Boston up 2 to 0, maybe I rethink that.

    UPDATE:
after getting dominated for 40 minutes, the Lakers come alive and close the gap to trail by as little as two points, but ultimately as corance pointed out, the Celts still won at home thanks to a monster game by Posey.

the pressure is on Kobe's team to win as the series shifts to LA... the good news for the Lakers is they will play three straight in the golden state, so they have a big chance to shift the momentum...
    right now, Boston leads 2-0
