Now I know I'm not an MC but I am an artist and I love what I do. In the process I've observed and learned my own faults as well as other people's when it comes to the creative process and the voice you're trying to present.
So the question is this: Do you love hip hop or do you love the money and life style associated with it?
Because the underground still exists, people still listen to it, mixtapes are still made, blogs are now available and the power and name that you've earned can go far with the voice that you have earned to this point.
Shit isn't a fairy tale. Can't live on Hot Pocket right Samax?
it was wack for Jay-Z to quit, wack for 3 Stacks to quit and wack for Game to quit. but Jay and Andre both kept rapping, and so will the Game.
quitting is wack. what i think is good is the Game recognizing the shallow pool... there has been a degree of depth and sense of culture in his music that has been undersold... even by him.
his frustration is coming from him just now seeing how little he has in common with some of these other rap cats. and THAT is what i think is good.
what remains to be seen is what will he do. will he be a crybaby and quit, or will he step up and live up to that moniker.
true true. I can say that I haven't listened to enough os "The Game" to make that assesment, but the fact that he makes notice of a change like this is intriguing.
it's the truth but we'll see

Game's not gonna retire (not permanently, anyways)
ReplyDeletei think the disillusionment Game is expressing is a good sign. it's a moment of clarity that he needs to go through.
he'll either become another jaded emcee with no love for what he's doing, just getting money, or he'll come to enjoy being a loose cannon.
we'll see.
I don't know. I guess I'm at a different point of site then.
ReplyDeleteI see the transition and it is good, but at the same time I can't see giving up on something that made you you and being jaded with it.
But like you guys said,"we'll see."

ReplyDeleteThe Game has definitely evolved. Much is changing in the artistic atmosphere, and I look forward to seeing him shine without the chains.
