All Things, even GOOD Things... come to an end...

master comics author Brian K. Vaughan, of the ghettoManga comicbook of the Year for 2007, Ex Machina, has had another book, the critically-acclaimed Y the Last Man, drop it's 60th and final issue last month. Y the Last Man, which tells the story of a plague that kills every living male in the world except for one guy and his monkey, was one of the best comics out there. if you've never read Y the Last Man, we at ghettoManga give the book the highest recommendation, so go to a comic shop or bookstore and COP the trade paperbacks collecting this monumental comics series.

my man Mike of the Mighty ghostWerks crew and artlovemagic.com wrote a brief review of the final issue:

Y the last man- Finale

Read it... It was a wonderful ending to the series. I'm so far behind on reading the trades that I almost didn't pick it up. But when I saw that fat 56 page issue and that beautiful cover, I couldn't resist and I couldn't wait.It was a good call. The issue jumps into the future, so being behind really didn't hurt me. I want to avoid giving away the story, so I'll just say that it's a wonderful and satisfying ending to the tale. If you're at all familiar with the main characters (including the planet earth), you'll get to see where their story goes. It was touching and even though I'm not up to date on everything, it hit me more emotionally than any comic in a long time.Vaughn handles all this so well that it speaks volumes for Ex Machina's oncoming finale (though I think we still have a few years on that one). This guy's proving himself as the best writer to break in to mainstream comics in this new millennium (see ghettoManga OGN of the Year nominee, Pride of Baghdad). Of course series artist Pia Guerra kills it as well. She shows why she's got such a fanbase- clean, clear, consistent. All in all this is just a wonderful ending to the series that made men all over stop dreaming about having every woman in the world to themselves. You'll miss it as soon as you put it down, but you'll be glad it said goodbye well. One line from the book tells it all-"You'll be fine, 'Rick. Just go out there and get your heart broken in, so it'll be ready when you really need it."
