Check the flow my little Chickadee...

"Kickin' the flam, yo it's the man.  Tick Tock, I jam like gridlock.
My style is fender-bending sending rappers to the pit stop.
Good Lord 'a' mercy hit reverse g, if ya missed it
And bust my gift of speech cause like the breach baby I'm twisted."

-Skoobs

^Baknaffek by Das Efx, off their second album Straight Up Sewaside

I still think Sewaside is their strongest album, even though they are largely considered one-hit wonders, never achieving the popular success of their debut album Dead Serious, with its flashy lead single, the instant classic They Want Efx.

On Sewaside, Das (Dray and Skoob) attempt to answer critics who called their stuttering style a gimmick by abandoning it for Sewaside (as addressed in this song's first line below).

"Shippity bop, well hot diggity
Where's the iggity? The bum siggity
Niggas wanna know but check the flow my little chickadee..."

The duo's rhymes are easter-egged with pop-culture references and nifty wordplay that made their raps worth rewinding. When poured over beats by the sorely under-appreciated production duo Solid Scheme, you get classic Jersey hip hop music that real heads remember fondly...

My favorite song on the record did not get a video.

"Who's the next jerk to test the expert?
You might regret it.

I fry you to a fricassee, cuz if you see me wreck it
be like curtains, I put hurtin's on that body when I spark it.
I'm super like the market when I'm bringin' niggas horror."
-Dray

Like I said, Sewaside is easily my favorite Das Efx album (and I'm a huge fan of Das).

What about you?  What's your favorite Das Efx record?
