start the day off Right w/ Jurny Big

I'm an underground rap nerd. A card-carrying, conspiracy- theory- generating backpacker. As such, I like lots of rappers you never heard of. There's a better than average chance that you never heard of Jurny Big, but I've been a fan of the brash battle rapper from West Covina, California for over a decade. Here's a few recent cuts via the magic of bandcamp...

This song is off subterranean button-pusher Peace 586' gospel hiphop beattape aBle. This joint showcases Jurny's fabulous penchant for snaking his arrogant, wordy verses around and through Peace's beats. He's had lots of practice: Whether it's as part of the massive christian rap crew the Tunnel Rats, as half of LPG (where Jurny raps longside his cousin Theory), or on other guest appearances and mixtape appearances, Peace 586 has probably provided more soundscapes for Jurny to rap on than anyone else.

this joint is off Sondial, the collabo album Sev Statik and Rawthreat dropped last month. It also features Theory Hazit, another dope spitter you're not familiar with (google him kids! You'll be glad you did!)

This song comes from the 2010 GhettoManga Album of the Year winner The Death of Me by Ahmad. I'm not sure if anyone else on the internet was as blown away by Ahmad's comeback album as I was, but having Jurny do this feature helped put it over the top of other dope albums that came out last year. Anyways, that's enough for now.
Have a nice day!
holla!
samax.
