KICKSTART THIS- "Sullivan's Sluggers" by Mark Andrew Smith & James Stokoe

Unlike our's, Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe's Kickstarter campaign  for their baseball horror graphic novel Sullivan's Sluggers doesn't need you. Sure, when I checked the link for it and put in my little $30 pledge, they had already raised something like 450 bucks of their $6,000 goal. By the time I got home from work, got my three year old fed, bathed and in the bed and sat down at my computer to drop this blog about it, it was at over $16,000 (a little less than three times the goal for those keeping score at home). So I know they don't need me to promote it, or you to pledge on it. But what the hell? Let's do it anyways...

 The Sales Pitch:
Sullivan's Sluggers is a baseball horror graphic novel written by Mark Andrew Smith with art by James Stokoe (Orc Stain).
Our goal is to use Kickstarter to complete Sullivan's Sluggers and to produce a beautiful 200 page, color, hardcover book.
We're relying on your support to make Sullivan's Sluggers the reality we all so very much want it to be.  $30 for 200 pages in glorious hardcover format is very reasonably priced, and Stokoe's art on its own makes Sullivan's 'the not to be missed' book of the year.
This book is exclusive only to Kickstarter backers and available here for a limited time.

The Story:
Long past their former glory, the minor league Sluggers get an invitation to play a baseball game in a cursed small town. After the 7th inning stretch, the sun goes down, and the dysfunctional teammates find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of flesh-eating monsters!
Now, it's up to coach Casey Sullivan to help his team escape from being the next dish in the town's terrifying feeding frenzy!
Eisner & Harvey Award-winning graphic novel author Mark Andrew Smith joins forces with Eisner nominated illustrator James Stokoe for a gripping roller coaster of a graphic novel, packed with shocks, gore, and screamingly outrageous humor, when America's Favorite Past Time becomes one team's ultimate nightmare!

I pledged on Mark Andrew Smith's New Brighton Archeological Society campaign, and have been paying attention to his other works off and on, but I am particularly gonzo for James Stokoe, whose work I've been following since Amazon.com recommended his quirky action cooking comic Wonton Soup as something I "might also like"... The combination of two such quality talents on a sports-horror hybrid was too much to pass up! Click here to jump on board!
holla!
