Peep this new video from Fort Nox (Funkytown Stand UP!!!)

I been feeling pretty crappy this week, so I was in the right mood to hear this heist record Buck from Fort Nox.

This three man crew comes from Fort Worth, Texas.  As a card-carrying local hip hop apologist, I was already familiar with Fort Nox when Twitter recommended I follow them, so kudos to Twitter for recommending someone I was actually interested in for once. This joint comes from Fort Nox's sophomore album L.O.T.O. (Last of the Originals) which dropped last summer.

I listened to this record last night, and true to their hometown's nickname, Fort Nox rides on some funky ass production by DJ Ernie G.
Last of the Originals feels like it was recorded by dudes who would rather listen to a deep catalog of dusty soul records than dodge commercials on the local "hip hop" station, and that makes it a pleasing experience. That said, all the rhymers in the crew take rapping serious, adding to the retro feel in a day when quality raps aren't valued like they should be.
Click here to cop L.O.T.O. (Last of the Originals) via bandcamp for $7.
have a nice day...
