"It's a cryin' shame. Crying Freeman with the aim..." -Napoleon Da Legend

Our favorite little big man Napoleon Da Legend jumped on this Mudd Beats track for Shogun, the second single from his upcoming full-length album Awakening...

I'm looking forward to this record. Napoleon had my headphones on lock from the moment I first encountered his music in the fall of 2011. In fact, The Sugar Cayne Experiment: Napoleon Da Legend (the ten-track  love letter to golden age hip hop he recorded with nerdcore multi-media role model Crazy Al Cayne) was so good, it dominated my conversations about hip hop for months after that.
Having been convinced on The Sugar Cayne Experiment, The Truth and the Legend, and the single Oxygen (which featured Raekwon) that he was a top-notch spitter with the desire to force-feed quality raps back into style, I am on the edge of my seat for Awakenings, essentially his first full-length album. If Napoleon's previous efforts are any indication, Awakenings will be stuffed with enough thought and wordplay to make it well-worth whatever they charge for it.  Awakenings drops April 2nd. For now click here to check out the first single Wise Men (f/ Sean Price).

peace...
