#nowPlaying "Cash Rules Everything" by Playdough (official video)

Playdough dropped a new video today for his Johnny Cash inspired banger Cash Rules Everything which you can watch here...

So you get the gist, this is off Playdough's album Writer Dye: Deux or Die, which is composed of tracks inspired by lyrics from classic records of the past. Being a mighty fine lyricist himself, Playdough takes the words of the greats and builds something new on them, making them his own on some Finding Forester type shit.

Cash Rules Everything was inspired by the folksy gospel song Aint No Grave (Can Hold My Body Down) by the original gangster Johnny Cash. Ain't No Grave has gained a new audience for the Man in Black by being on the sountrack to Tarantino's blaxploitation/spaghetti western Django Unchained. There was no way for Playdough to know that, since Deux or Die came out before Django hit the big screen...  Now that I think about it, the Undertaker started using Ain't No Grave as his theme in 2011... but now I'm rambling. Anyways, hope you enjoy the video! Click here to read my review of Writer Dye: Deux or Die or just click here to buy it on bandcamp.
