If we needed more proof that I do not exist in the fantasy universe inhabited by Kurtis Weibe and Roc Upchurch's League of Extraordinary Bad Ass Chicks, look no further than this post-coital preview of Rat Queens #6...
Here's the sales pitch:
MATURE READERS ONLY
“THE FAR REACHING TENTACLES OF N’RYGOTH,” Part One A brand new booze-soaked arc of Rat Queens reveals a growing menace within the very walls of Palisade. And while Dee may have run from her past, the bloated, blood-feasting sky god N’rygoth never really lets his children stray too far. FIRST ISSUE OF A NEW STORY ARC! PERFECT JUMP-ON POINT!
There is NO WAY in the world that my girl Dee should be sleeping alone. I mean, I can suspend my disbelief only so far... I almost WILLED myself two dimensional and projected myself into the comic on some Grant Morrisson shit to handle that. But seriously, Rat Queens is the feel good story of 2014. The pitch says issue 6 is a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, so I encourage you to jump on it when Rat Queens #6 reaches stores May 7th.
Also, make sure to CLICK HERE to cop Rat Queens, Vol. 1: Sass and Sorcery, which collects the first five issues of this side-splitting, critically acclaimed, and highly recommended fantasy series.
Here's the sales pitch for Sass and Sorcery:
The Rat Queens is a pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they’re in the business of killing all god’s creatures for profit. It’s also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief. This modern spin on an old school genre is a violent monster-killing epic that is like Buffy meets Tank Girl in a Lord of the Rings world on crack! Collecting the first five issues of the sold out hit series at the special introductory price of $9.99!
have a nice day...

Finally read the Rat Queens TPB.
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC!
I found that in the first TPB,and especially with the semi-anachornistic teasers from issue 6, that they owe a lot to Terry Pratchett.
It's like a sexier, bloodier and more profanity-laden Discworld.
Thanks for turning me on to it!
Sure thing! Glad you enjoyed it!
