Your man Ron Wimberly attacks GMOs with "Gratuitous Ninja: Tangerine"

I was just saying something about artists being activists by nature earlier today... Nobody is living it better than the mighty D-Pi (the IRS calls him Ron Wimberly), who fired off this classic Gratuitous Ninja short as a salvo against Genetically Modified Foods. Before you brand him a bandwagon jumper, you should know Gratuitous Ninja: Tangerine was first published in 2002...

GratNin: Tangerine (2002)
My second GratNin short was about local urban food production and genetically modified food. Right now, as Obama looks to appoint Michael Taylor, former VP and lobbyist for Monsanto, as senior advisor to the commissioner at the FDA, I think it’s a good time to pay close attention to what is happening with our food. As the GZA said, you gotta read the label. Choose your path, but I suggest you start here and end here
Hey, graphicpolicy, elanabrooklyn
Here’s the old strip about roof-farming, agrihacking ninja I told you I’d show you. This was 2002! I was ahead of the game! This was also my first published work, not counting the Pratt Static Fish.
Chew on that. So my point is fight evil with art whenever possible.

Peace,

Samax Amen draws people, places and things for fun and profit. He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like Herman Heed, Champion of Children, The Brother and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
