Hey! I didn't know @SonnyLiew was drawing @DCcomics' new DR. FATE series!

I always loved DC's pseudo-Egyptian master mage Dr. Fate.  I also enjoy Sonny Liew's art. So I was pleasantly surprised to see Sonny's art on the Lord of Order's new Dr. Fate series, written by Paul Levitz!
Here's the sales pitch:

You thought global warming was bad? Anubis, the Egyptian Lord of Dead, is preparing the flood to wash the world away. Standing in his way? An overwhelmed Brooklyn med student who’s been handed the helmet of Fate, without an instruction manual.

Global warming IS bad... But I don't want beef with Anubis, and neither do you. This book looks to be chock full of good junk. If you disagree, there's a cat walking on water in this preview, so I win. I love it when comics plays around with religion, so I hope to see them go full retarded with the Egyptian stuff. Dr. Fate is probably not going to bring the Egyptian pantheon into the household name status that THOR has for Odin and company, but I will be satisfied if it inspires the book that does. Yeah, I like to dream big.
Anyways, I love Sonny Liew ever since I first caught his work on the Vertigo book My Faith in Frankie back around the turn of the century when everyone was on that end-of-the-world isht, so I think putting him on art duty is a slam dunk for the New 52 iteration Dr. Fate. 

So yeah... Dr. Fate #1, by Paul Levitz and Sonny Liew, is in stores now.
