A couple preview pages from the next issue of Genndy Tartakovsky's CAGE!

So Genndy Tartakovsky's doing that thing he does with Power Man in the second issue of CAGE! Here's a couple pages I snatched from the internets...
Here's the sales pitch:
TRAPPED in the jungle a thousand miles from home, HUNTED by savage beasts that walk like men, Luke’s got just one thing going for him: Ain’t no cage that can hold Cage!

Dope variant cover by BRUCE TIMM
That first page is conjuring up some Samurai Jack run cycles, fam!  Anyways, I totally hear Mister T's voice when he punches that snake.  I still think they oughta do a Hero for Hire cartoon set in a seventies version of the Marvel Universe, where Cage, Fist and Misty Knight go up against period iterations of all the Marvel villains, with occasional help from other disco-era super heroes. Under the conceits of a Blaxploitation-style cartoon where Luke Cage is the world's greatest badass hero, you could have fun with nostalgia-flavored culture criticism like the late Darwyn Cooke did so brilliantly, but from a black perspective.

Anyways, I gotta get back to the drawing board, so that's enough of that particular daydream.
CAGE! #2, by Genndy Tartakovsky, Stephen DeStefano, and Bill Wray hits stores November 23rd.

Peace.
