#NowPlaying LOOPS TWO by MidaZ the Beast

Rhymer/Illustrator Gift Revolver did artwork for this guy MidaZ the Beast, which would be reason enough to encourage you to listen to MidaZ's 2016 album Loops Two.  But as it turns out, Loops Two is a fabulous blend of true-school street hop and nerdcore wordery.  Stream the record below, and read some words from me, if you're so inclined...

MidaZ the Beast is a perfect example why you should be embarrassed to complain about hip hop.  I rode in the car with people who insisted on listening to the radio all day today, so I know what you're complaining about, but if you think the mumbling bumbaclots  on your radio in any way represent the "current state of hip hop," you are the fucking problem.  Get your damn mind right!

Ahem.

So my point is, there are tons of men and women that you never heard of going hard in the trenches. Creative soldiers that could use the money you shower on corporate pop-culture, the respect you reserve for the dead, washed-up and/or retired rappers of your youth, and the tireless attention you give to the things you hate.  This dude MidaZ is one of 'em.  MidaZ delivers bars that are full of references to comics, anime, and golden era hip hop...  As pregnant and radio-unfriendly as any you might find on any of the classic albums you bought back when you stilled paid for music.

MidaZ's lyrics reveal musical influences from Wu-tang to Planet Asia, and a mind saturated in street-grade militancy, bad language, and  shoplifted comics.  In other words, he'd fit right in at GhettoManga central.  So this record will get plenty of spins here...

Peace.
