Dawn Okoro explores hip hop's portrayal of women of color in DECONSTRUCTED VIXENS

We LOVE Austin-based painter Dawn Okoro, so I just wanted to put you on to this upcoming art show Deconstructed Vixens.

I have a commitment in Dallas on the day of the opening, but if I am able to arrange it, I will make it down to Austin to see this show next week while it's open.  I encourage anyone interested in thought-provoking figurative work to get down to Casual City for this if you can. Deconstructed Vixens will be up from November 11 through November 19.  CLICK HERE to check times that work for you.  Tell 'em GhettoManga sent'cha.
Peace,

He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like Herman Heed, Champion of Children, The Brother and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
