A New Black-Owned Comics Distributor?! Yes, REALLY!

Award-winning indie comics publisher 133art joined the cloud of options for comic book printing a while back, and is continuing to go vertical by joining with other companies to form BIC Distro, a new black-owned comicbook distributor.

From yesterday's 133art Bulletin:

Happy Juneteenth from 133art!

Hoping this message meets you with good vibes and well-being. As you know we're always working hard here at 133art to further our position as publisher of good Black indie content. We're always working hard to open doors for our community and the creators coming up behind us. It's always been our pleasure to create the stories we would've liked to have seen as young Black kids and to built the infrastructure that we could've taken advantage of as young creators. We want to be the change, hopefully our comics, our merchandise, and our services reflect that. With that idea in mind, we'd like to introduce you to our newest venture: Black Indie Comix Distribution or BIC DISTRO.

In partnership with MV Media and Hiro! Unlimited we're banding together to tackle an important piece of the Publishing puzzle, distribution. Our goal and our focus it to get Black indie content out to the wider audience with the help of comic retailers, bookstores, and anywhere books are sold. Thanks for your support this far, and we hope you guys come along with us on this new journey!

With that said, go check out the website, if you're an interested retailer feel free to sign-up, and download our catalog below:

Introducing: BIC DISTRO!

If this doesn't immediately strike you as a HUGE development, let me clear that up for you.

This is a really big deal.

Lubricating the process of getting comics out to the public is very, very important.  Owning the process in our community is even bigger.
