MOOD MUSIC--> "19" by Mountain Wolf Windblade + Lex Boogie from the BX

I know him mostly as an accomplished indy cartoonist and illustrator, but my dude Elihu Adofo Bey has been making music for as long as I've known him.  He has contributed to GhettoManga more than once, I even have a book he drew in my library, but I don't think I've ever actually bought a record from him, though.

That changed today.

The sales pitch:
disorder as the essential space prematuring organization.
Rebellions as a structuring agent.
The wiley strands of hair blown by the wind.
Teenagers, gangs, primal challenges, practice, freeform
movements of enthusiastic play. Carefree proclamations of no fucks.
The unrecognized guffaw. The funny stylers perfecting.
The first mustache. Her period starting. Budding nipples. A baby's tooth.
A middle finger to all the conditioned, educated, miseducated successors.
Wolf and Lex blow you a kiss colonized in covid particles.
A trip into stutter.
The dance of death stirs earth anew. Soon come sun...
and forgotten pains.

Lex Boogie from the Bronx, it's all his fault.

When he combines with the mighty Lex Boogie, Adofo becomes the magnanimous Mountain Wolf Windblade.  Wolf & Lex together was more than I could resist with my Paypal account balance being what it is.  So I dropped $8 for the record.

19 is like Ultramagnetic on a Vegan diet.

Lo-fi, high fiber.

Great music to draw to.  Wolf's delivery is so low key on 19 that he feels more like an instrument on a jazz record than a rapper seeking validation from the audience.

You never really know other people (especially on the internet), but I have been friends with Wolf on social media since the MySpace era.  On the first listen, I heard the combination of charm, blunted wisdom, and yoga swag I have come to know and love.

I'm looking forward to getting more out of 19 on repeated listening.
