People often ask me why I don't go out of my way to work at the major publishers like Marvel and DC. When Thanos made his first appearance on a movie screen at the end of The Avengers, Jim Starlin (the writer who created him, along with Gamora and Drax the Destroyer) found out because he was sitting in the audience when it happened. Unless you've been in a coma or something, you know Starlin's creations have appeared in movies that generated billions for Marvel and parent company, Disney. As superheroes are proliferating at the movies, on teevee, and streaming on our devices, the big publishers just can't bring themselves to treat creators fairly. Not cool. Not rare, either. I'm just sayin'.... | |
