I've actually worked with churches where preachers are warning of the dangers of "spirituality without religion". That's crazy to me.
Relationships with God cannot be defined by anyone but you and your Creator. You are UNIQUE. Your Creator knows this and wishes to engage with you as your Unique self.
Teachings, whether spoken are written, can be wonderful indicators of how to open yourself up to God. But when your heart, experience, and gut lead you to a different conclusion than a teaching that is being presented to you, you should favor YOUR truth over theirs.
