When I started reading comics, Jean Grey was already dead, a casualty of The Dark Phoenix Saga, probably the greatest X-men story ever. Professor X was headmaster of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Wolverine was the X-men's resident hothead. These days, Jean is dead (again) and Wolverine is headmaster of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, as well as being on the Avengers. For those keeping score at home, Wu-Massacre -the new collabo joint from Method Man, Raekwon, and Ghostface- is dropping on Tuesday. Def Jam (who, according to Meth, rushed the album to get it out as quickly as possible) is working hard to try and keep the buzz going until the record drops. They are smartly pimping the gorgeous cover art from Chris Bachalo (Captain Stoneheart and the Truth Fairy, Witching Hour, X-Men: Assault on Weapon Plus) for all it's worth...

okay, so I already posted the original version of the Chris Bachalo cover for that Wu-tang trio album Wu-Massacre that's due out on the 30th, now I got all three of Bachalo's "variant covers" below. Each of the album's co-conspirators (Raekwon the Chef, Method Man and GhostFace Killah) got his own variant cover.

Peep this Method Man variant cover for that upcoming Wu-Massacre collabo joint I mentioned to you before.  As you can Imagine, there will be one each for Method Man, Raekwon the Chef and GhostFace.

I believe the mighty Wu-tang trio of Method Man, Ghostface and Raekwon the Chef are going by the moniker "3 The Hard Way" for the new collabo album Wu-Massacre, but whatever the case, I posted this mainly to remark on how dope this art turned in by veteran comicbook artist Chris Bachalo (Shade The Changing Man, Generation X, Assualt on Weapon Plus) is! If this record is anything but Legendary, Bachalis should sue and get sole custody of this artwork! But with Meth, Ghost and Raekwon, (with production by the RZA and Mathematics) it might actually live up to the record cover! the joint drops March 30th, so we'll see! if you're afraid you'll forget, you can preorder from Amazon... just click here (so they know ya heard it from me!)

(this one rocks- Noh Var with brilliant Bachallo art- even for Bachallo fans, this one's off the chain. Some of his very best work. whooooo- bring on the new Captain Marvel)

X Force Annual #1
(X Force Annual? Really?) Yes. This mug is written by Robert Kirkman (Invincible) and drawn by... (wait for it)... Body Bags maestro Jason Pearson!!! Since Pearson only draws a full story between ice ages, you might not want to miss this gem. It's a Wolverine one shot- gritty and grimy.

Both came out this week and are on your local comic shop shelves now (but may not be for long, cause each is better than they should be and retailers probably under-ordered)
