OH SNAP! New NUMBER13 in the works?!?

So you know I'm already geeking on Robert Love from the new Dark Horse project Children of the Plague he's been teasing about. Now I'm bugging about this new Number13 page he leaked on Facebook this week!

Okay... I'm fiending for Robert Love's upcoming @DarkHorseComics book CHILDREN OF THE PLAGUE!

That dude Robert Love (Chocolate Thunder, Blind Monkey Style, Number 13) is at it again. This time he's getting all post- apocalyptic on your ass in his upcoming Dark Horse comic book Children of the Plague. I couldn't find any real info on the series, so here is a small sample of random shits I culled from Robert's Facebook photos...

Is Robert Love and David Walker's sci-fi comic "Number 13" getting the live action treatment?

I am straight bugging off this proof of concept trailer for Number 13, the live-action adaptation of Robert Love and David Walker's post apocalyptic action comic of the same name, not just because it looks ill, and not just because it stars a stone-grilled black boy, but because I think this would be great for independent black cinema and for black comics.

PREVIEW "Number 13" by David Walker & Robert Love

We are psyched to report that the Robert Love/ David Walker post-apocalyptic sci-fi comic Number 13 drops next month.

In Stores Now- "Alpha Girl #2" art by Robert Love

3 Reasons why YOU need to buy Dark Horse Presents #2

I didn't buy the first issue of Dark Horse Presents that featured the debut of new multi-part serials by Neal Adams (his cover art on the left) and Richard Corben (two creators I've loved for decades), and an interview and sneak peak at Frank Miller's prequel comic (soon to be movie) Xerxes... but I still have a few REALLY good reasons why I GOTTA cop #2, and frankly, you should too...

Peep these HOT character designs by Robert Love!

Robert Love has been rolling out some character designs for villains that will be appearing in Kenji: Spirits of the Seven Dragons. and not for nothing, but they're pretty awesome...

Ghettosake returns with "Blind Monkey Style"

It's been a long time coming, but Robert Love (Chocolate Thunder, Fierce, 13) and David Walker (BadAzz Mofo) are back with their martial arts revenge comic Kenji: Master of the Blind Monkey Style (previously printed as part of Image's Popgun anthology series) which is available for you to purchase as a full color stand-alone comic. Don't Stop, the Shadow Rock!

the creators of Chocolate Thunder, Fierce and Blind Monkey Style dropped something strictly for the kids! Jeremy and Robert Love have gone all Goosebumps on us with the kids' action-ghost story comic Shadow Rock. Murder, ghosts and mystery take the center stage in this full-color 80 page original graphic novel from Dark Horse Comics.

After his mom's death, young Tim London moves from the hood to the small fishing town of Shadow Rock to live with pops. His new home is up the hill from a legendary haunted lighthouse where Timothy discovers the ghost of Kendahl Fog, a little boy who died under mysterious circumstances. Timothy and his new ghostly companion set out to solve the mystery of Kendahl's death. and of course there is a cute girl... gotta have a cute girl who can help Tim adjust to his new surroundings, find clues, and brighten the scenery! the story and art, crafted to appeal to kids, also held my attention too. so cop this joint for self, or for a friend, young or old! New and used copies available mad cheap in the gM store!

Instant Classic!

this weekend, i finally read Fierce, the action-adventure graphic novel by the Love brothers, Robert and Jeremy (Chocolate Thunder). the book stars Jonathan Fierce, a Jamerican FBI profiler with Minority Report-style ESP that allows him to see murders and other crimes before they happen. When Jamaican gangsters kill his team, the only real family he's ever had, and the FBI wants to charge him with the crime, Fierce kidnaps the fly psychiatrist who's developed a crush on him and heads to Kingston where he must face the ghosts of his past, evade capture by the feds, and take on the Jamaican underworld head-on. thankfully, Fierce can now hear the voices of his slain teammates, and channel their skills and abilities to become a one-man strike force, so it's all good.
Fierce has
good art and a great story. the action-packed pacing has the feel of the kind of action movie that black folks would love to see in theaters or on cable teevee, so if you like those kindsa films, give this graphic novel a shot!
if you check it out (or if you already read it), let me know what you thought!
