I just recently started reading Brandon Graham's graphic novel RAIN LIKE HAMMERS*, so I couldn't resist watching this interview.

REVIEW- CHU Volume 1 by John Layman + Dan Boultwood

If you're one of my longtime GhettoManga readers, you already know I love John Layman's urban fantasy comic CHEW, about Tony Chu a federal agent who gets psychic impressions from anything he eats.  Laymen returns us to the Chewniverse with CHU, starring Tony's shifty sister Saffron.  Saffron uses her ability to read the thoughts of anyone she eats with to get into gangster shit, and boy does she ever in this CHEW prequel!

End of an Era...

As I mentioned in SUNDAY COMICS, it was recently announced that the hit comic The Walking Dead is officially over, with the release of issue 193.

In Stores Now- TECH JACKET #11 by @JoeKeatinge and @KharyRandolph

Before The Walking Dead turned Kirkman into a television personality, he launched a few comic books (including his sci-fi space hero comic Tech Jacket), looking to expand on the success of what was (at that time) the feel-good story of his career: Invincible. Of course, when AMC turned his post- zombie- apocalyptic opus into a small-screen smash, his priorities shifted along with his tax bracket.  Freed from the need to write a gajillion books to keep the lights on, Kirkman has gone mogul, hiring writers to keep the secondary titles rolling.
Tech Jacket is pretty fresh. Post-Kirkman, the ongoing Tech Jacket series is written by Joe Keatinge (Glory) with art by Khary (rhymes with Atari) Randolph (Starborn, Charismagic). Peep...

Malcolm Dragon's world is going straight to HELLLLLLL!!! or... IN STORES TODAY- SAVAGE DRAGON #199

 Y'all know I reserve a soft spot in my heart for Erik Larsen's looney as folk creator-owned super hero comic SAVAGE DRAGON, so I'm sure you know I'm getting excited for issue 200! But hold up, let's not glaze over the monster effort Larsen put into these spreads from issue 199...

I actually bought TWO comic books this week (yeah, really!), and neither one of them was Savage Dragon #197... BUT! I did read this issue in the store. It was awesome...
