(Umbrella Academy + Movie) x (Mary J Blige + Time Traveling Assassin) = Yes #DoTheMath

Everyone is shedding crocodile tears about the not-so-sanctimonious end of the Netflix wing of the Marvel Universe.  Meanwhile, Netflix is doing what they need to do.  Namely scraping the lesser comix universes for intellectual property gold...

No one could hold it against you if you didn't remember the cult classic mind-bender Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba.  Most fans of the Eisner-Award-winning Dark Horse series (including me) would be hard-pressed to give you a good synopsis of the book without refreshing their memory.  The trailer tells you all you need to know, except that the comic was even more batshit crazy than this series  looks to be.  It was awesome.
There are world-saving kid superheroes, talking monkeys, and now I can look forward to Mary J. Blige getting her open carry on, so I am already on board.

It won't be long now: The first season of Umbrella Academy drops on Netflix February 15th.

Samax Amen is a professional Content Developer, Illustrator and Cartoonist. He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like Herman Heed, Champion of Children, The Brother and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
