The sales pitch:
John Stewart makes a fateful decision – will he choose to take his last shot at redemption? Or will he pull the trigger and kill any chance of a life worth living, in the name of saving the Corps?
Yeah. We know Van Jensen really likes effing with John, right? So now we've jumped ahead to the near future, where John got tired of getting pushed around and is back on his Full Metal Jacket shit. Without the mighty Bernard Chang on art backing Jensen up, I'm not sure about GLC Future's End. I mean, the art by committee here doesn't look bad, but Chang is killing it on Green Lantern Corps. I'd LOVE to see what he would have done with that opening sequence. These guys are not ruining the story, but I'm not sure if they're selling it either. Feel free to speak on it. I imagine I can be persuaded...
Anyways, I like what I'm seeing here overall. Van Jensen has the borderline sadistic streak that makes for a good superhero writer. He's running John through the ringer, which will only enhance his appeal as a superhero. GREEN LANTERN CORPS: FUTURE'S END #1 hits stores Wednesday September 10th.

Samax Amen draws people, places and things for fun and profit. He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like Herman Heed, Champion of Children, The Brother and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
