Late pass in full effect. I had no idea that Ray Anthony Height (Midnight Tiger) was drawing Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur. Even if it's his first issue, this came out weeks ago. No excuses.
The Sales pitch:
ANTI-SMOKING SPECIAL! Swarm has the students and teachers at P.S. 20 hooked on cigarettes and it’s up to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur to butt them out! Investigate the dangers of nicotine with the whole family! Just in time to commemorate the World Health Organization’s No Tobacco Day!
Amy Reeder (Halloween Eve) is a beast. That is all.
This opening sequence is just superb. It owns the after-school special vibe, while still committing to giving Moon Girl fans what they need. Ray has perfect the perfect mix of Marvel classicism and cultural authenticity to make this book do what it needs to do. The colors by Tamra Bonvillain are just right for a playful kid superhero tone. If they will just let Ray give Moon Girl a real costume, I will be in heaven.
Anyways, if you need to get your hands on more Moon Girl comics quick, there's five volumes available on Amazon, or where ever you like to buy your comics.
