From the Tower by A L C Z R ™ #NowPlayingAtGhettoMangaHQ

I first ran across Seattle emcee ALCZR ("AL kuh ZAR") via the Soundcloud algorithm and was immediately blown away by his combination of playful delivery and serious lyricism.  Looks Zar dropped a new joint called From the Tower last month...

The sales pitch:
96 INTL presents
'From the Tower'
produced by Def Dee
mix & mastered by Vitamin D
featuring ALCZR

released November 11, 2020

ALCZR is from the Seattle area, and is part of a crew called NINESIX.  As I said before, my first exposure to Zar and company was this song Clan In Front, off his producer DEF DEE's two piece DEJA VU.  I must have spun Clan In Front hundreds of times over the years, and if you have hung out with me at all you have probably heard it.

Anyways, I just listened to From the Tower once, and blogged about it so I would remember to buy it when I get some more bread (because Christmas).  I will try to hit y'all with a proper review soon.

He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like FREELANCER LIFE, Herman Heed, Champion of Children, and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
comics. hiphop. news. art. culture
Samax Amen is proud to present his new book #FreelancingFAIL, a series of articles, comic strips, and illustrations about the common mindsets and habits that hold artists, writers, and other freelancers back.  More importantly, in this 70+ page e-book, Samax shows you how to overcome them and thrive!
