A few days ago, my fellow art dude and GhettoManga contributor Oladele Barr shared the video below where the mighty Denzel Washington talks about a crazy racist movie role he had pitched at him early in his career, and his response, which is quite hilarious...
Denzel Washington is the realest... Just so you know the sort of guy I am, I immediately wanted to make The Nigga They Couldn't Kill into a dope as fuhhh blaxploitation comic starring a dude whose resemblance to Denzel Washington was strictly coincidental. In the post-Trayvon era, I would enjoy parodying the irrational fear of black men that America seems unable to shake. The Nigga They Couldn't Kill, a 300+ page black and white graphic novel, would be sure to offend everyone, and thus be a runaway smash hit, sparking a new renaissance of black and white comics (but they'd give the credit to The Walking Dead). The Nigga They Couldn't Kill would be so well-received that it would be nominated for multiple Eisners, including best Original Graphic Novel and Best Writer. Maybe it would even win one.

But I don't have time to write and draw a 300+ page graphic novel, so I guess we'll never know.

Samax Amen draws people, places and things for fun and profit. He has a black wife, drives a black car, and walks his black cocker spaniel three times a day. But don't worry, white people, he's cool.
