Even if you don't read it regularly, ya gotta love @ErikJLarsen's SAVAGE DRAGON...

I actually bought TWO comic books this week (yeah, really!), and neither one of them was Savage Dragon #197... BUT! I did read this issue in the store. It was awesome...

Our favorite zombie-smashing lesbian (Rylie of THE ABANDONED) returns in @RossCampbelll's new webcomic CAN'T LOOK BACK!

You pro'lly already know I'm a big fan of rising star cartoonist Ross Campbell (Glory, TMNT, Shadoweyes, Wet Moon), whose mastery of drawing lovely girls of every conceivable shape, size and color is matched only by his skill at writing them as fully-realized characters. My introduction to Ross's work came from running across the ruthless zombie invasion graphic novel The Abandoned that he put out as part of Tokyopop's awesome but ultimately doomed line of American graphic novels. I said all that to say that Ross's new webcomic Can't Look Back picks up where The Abandoned left off. Sorta...

#downloadThis- Pragmatic Theory presents "Forces Within the Framework" and "#MASSACR"

Instead of going to sleep after work like a sensible dude, I checked my messages and shared a couple choice joints on the GhettoManga Facebook wall. The first person to like it was an emcee named SLiM PiCKENS, who had the cover of Pragmatic Theory's album #MASSACR for his profile pic (maybe the dopest record cover I have seen all year). So scrolling through his pics revealed the above cover for Forces Within the Framework, and I could no longer resist the pull of their bandcamp page...

#nowPlaying "Han Solo (Chewie Tell 'Em)" by @VerbalGunslinga

"Got a lotta friends and a lotta ends,
So I let the wookie win,
Like my name was Han Solo..."
-Verbal Gunslinger

I know next to nothing about Louisville to Richmond transplant Verbal Gunslinger... But when he favorited a tweet for my blog post about the last week's Conspiracy Worldwide Radio podcast, curiosity got the best of me...

#nowPlaying THE HAMMER by Jeru the Damaja

I was driving when I heard a new song by Jeru on the Conspiracy Worldwide Radio podcast on Friday. I was so surprised to hear the Damaja's voice that I had trouble staying in my lane. Fortunately, I managed to hold the steering wheel, so here we are. To celebrate the fact that I lived through another day in Dallas traffic, let's peep this youtube rip of Jeru's new EP The Hammer before they take it down.

CWR interviews Cormega, Ish from Shabazz Palaces, Bob Power and more, plus tons of brand new HIP HOP music!

While I was zipping around Dallas traffic Friday, I was rocking out to the Conspiracy Worldwide Radio podcast, wherein the homies Montana and Menace provided me with TONS of new hip hop music from the US and the UK, plus interviews with Cormega, Ishmael Butler from Shabazz Palaces (aka Butterfly from Digable Planets), Watson and Holmes (Stu Bangas and Blacastan, not the award-winning indie comic), and more. Five hours of uncut dope from across the pond...

Hey, Sports Fans! Check out @PhillipBuchanon's new sports comedy comic NEW MONEY!

There's not enough comics about sports in America, so I was very interested to show you New Money #1,  the brand new joint written by NFL vet Phillip Buchanon 'longside Hannibal Tabu, with art by N. Steven Harris (The Fringe, Watson & Holmes).

OH SHNAP! JINNRISE Vol 2 drops this week! (@AndrewHuerta93 is a friggin BEAST!!!)

DAMMIT! I been asleep at the wheel or something, because I haven't spent every minute of everyday raving about Jinnrise, the urban fantasy smash from IDW, and its bad to the mothereffing bone artist Andrew Huerta. Stop looking at me like that and check out these preview pages from Jinnrise Volume 2, tough guy!

You wanna get down with Govea, Nunez and Zarate's upcoming gamerverse comic ALT CONTROL DELETE? #KickstartThis

PREVIEW- FROM UNDER MOUNTAINS by Marian Churchland, Claire Gibson, and Sloane Leong #sheGoHard

For those who don't know me, I like hip hop and comics, and I'm a feminist. As such, I get excited when ladies go hard in all the proverbial paints. See, fresh dudes like myself can try to rectify the inequities in hip hop and/or comics culture, but nothing can substitute for ladies stepping up and getting their thang on, seen? To that end, peep this preview of From Under Mountains, an upcoming fantasy bangaroo by the mighty Marian Churchland (BEAST), Claire Gibson, and Sloane Leong.

Mr Hyde goes HAM in this ALL NEW GHOST RIDER preview!

You are ALL FIRED for not telling me about ZOMBILLENIUM!

Okay, I will stop blaming others for my shortcomings... I never heard of Zombillenium until a few minutes ago. I am so overcome by this that I can't say much, but just show you what I just saw...

"Weaker than the Euro, stronger than the Peso, but you get what you pay for, so be grateful..." -Homeboy Sandman

Stop the bloodclot crying and peep the new single America the Beautiful by Homeboy Sandman, produced by Jonwayne.

PREVIEW- ALIEN LEGION: UNCIVIL WAR by Chuck Dixon, Larry Stroman and Carl Potts

I never read Alien Legion, the sporadic yet long-running science fiction comic by Chuck Dixon, Carl Potts and Larry Stroman, but from all accounts this new series from Titan will not require knowledge of the previous books to enjoy.

Can STORM live up to expectations?

I haven't bought a Marvel comic in a long time, but the debut this week of Storm's new ongoing comic by Greg Pak and Victor Ibanez might be more than I can resist...

#WatchTHIS- new "LES WARNING" video by @BodegaBrovas #BelieveInBodega

I just checked my email or something and found a link to Les Warning, the new video by the Bodega Brovas. Watch it, suckaz!

Ms. Marvel, which stars a Muslim-American female superhero, is helping Marvel win the Diversity War...

I have been hearing nothing but good things about Ms. Marvel, the House of Mouse Ideas' first comic starring a Muslim-American superhero. If I was keeping score (and I kinda am), I'd say Marvel is winning the unspoken diversity war with DC.

#FanArtFriday- STORM!

Fan Art Friday- STORM

DAMN, DAMN, DAAAAAMNNNN!!!! or IN STORES NOW- GREEN LANTERN CORPS #33

If I was gonna buy a DC book these days (and I'm not saying I would), it would be Green Lantern Corps! I mean, that dude Bernard Chang's art got my man John Stewart looking like a boss, plus he's getting biz with Fatality! That said, if you're planning on copping the trade of this, you definitely want to skip this preview on some SPOILER ALERT isht...

So, yeah. @WaltSimonson is the SHEET! That is all.

I have met many famous people and never fanned out on any of them... except when I met Walt Simonson. He was really nice, and drew a sketch in my little sketchbook, smiling at me as I blubbered something along the lines of "uuuhhuuh... I like Thor."
Anyways, this is his creator-owned joint Star Slammers:Remastered...

Start the day offRight with @Rhymageddon and @Venomous2000

Man... I heard this song #RockAfterThem a while ago, but I forgot how dope it was until my girl Sheila showed me the video yesterday. All the break dancing, hard bars from Rhymageddon and Venomous2000, and dope art in the background make for an infectious, fun video! Peep...

"Hair trigger temper. The Last Airbender. Quick to Blair Witch ya. Authentic rare mixture." @Griffen

I'm not sure why Chicago underground rap vet Profound shared this link to the video for Erywhere (a track he rhymed on with this young cat Griffen) with me yesterday. Maybe he knows I'm from Dallas, and that I would dig the D.O.C. sample at the beginning? Maybe he knew I would appreciate how they flipped my favorite Black Thought verse into a whole new song? I don't know. But what I do know... is that this... is dope...

Drugs, black on black violence and abusive parenting? Hey kids, it's BATWING #33

Here's another dope Batwing cover by Dan Panosian. Looks like Bats got into Kaneda's stash again. So anyways, Batwing #33 introduces a new villain into the new 52 Batman rogue's gallery. Peep...
