I'm streaming these instrumentals to All Dat Glitters Ain't Goals, by Fahamu Pecou and Illustrate. I also embedded the original EP, which features Atlanta-based hip hop from emcees like Ekunday (Liuns Den) Clan Destined, Boog Brown, Methuzulah, Stic man, Starchile, etc. You're welcome.
Here's the EP...
The sales pitch:
Fahamu Pecou presents the ALL DAT GLITTERS AINT GOALS EP. A collection of original music inspired by Pecou's painting series of the same title.
FEATURING: STIC.MAN of Dead Prez, L.I.U.N.S. DEN (Ekundayo the Mountain Liun, EL SUN, THUNDA KAT), STARCHILE (Divine & Massive the Victor), BOOG BROWN, JOE D, CLAN DESTINED (AmDex & DT), Jamila Crawford, Okorie Johnson, Mykel, METHUZALAH, MIKE FLO & G.R.E.A.T. SCOTT
I wish I had the energy to expand on this work, but sadly, I don't. The exhibit isn't up anymore (this is over a year old), but if you download the EP, it comes with a digibook of art from the show. But I hope this inspires you. As Pecou would say:
Create like a god.
Command like a king.
Work like a slave.
Love like a mother.
peace.
-samax.
Samax Amen has been mixing his comics with hip hop since the late eighties. One of his goals is to draw at least fourteen nerdcore-themed hip hop album covers in 2014. Click here if you wanna get down with that...
