here's a bullet point from my NOTES TO COMICS ADAPTATION DECISION MAKERS: "if you're making a movie based on a comic with dope artwork, please get the artist of said comic involved in your movie poster process." somebody's paying attention because those geniuses that are making the big screen version of DC/Vertigo's The Losers actually had Jock (The Losers, Green Arrow: Year One) draw the poster. i have fingers and toes crossed for this film based on the excellent Spy-Fi comic by Jock and writer Andy Diggle. i reeeeeally want it to be GOOD! the film has Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, The Terminal), Idris Elba (Rock n' Rolla, Obsessed) , and Jefferey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) in the cast, so they have some things working form them so far...
holla!

Love the source material. Losers had a way of dealing with straight action in a more engaging way than most non-superhero comics can muster. Of course Jock was a big part of it.
They'd better get Cougar right.
like i said, i got my fingers crossed...
That is an entirely awesome poster. It may bode well for the film; if the studio cared enough to make a good poster, they may have cared enough to create a good film.
side question: as both a comic and film fan, I wondered yesterday if, as they are both visual media, a comic book being turned into a film is a bit redundant?
That's what I'm talkin' about.
As far as comic into film I wouldn't so much call it redundant as I would a method. By that I mean there are source materials everywhere, comic book is just the most popular right now. The reason being, that at the very least, it can be a rough version of the storyboard.
are music videos redundant? are audiobooks redundant?
maybe. LOL! i guess it depends on how far you stretch the definition... i don't think it matters. like miss cleo's psychic predictions, it's 'for entertainment purposes'
but, yeah, i think the poster is a good sign like you said... but that doesn't mean they won't stick the landing (fingers crossed!!!)
Wait...Zoe Saldana was in The Terminal? The Tom Hanks/Speilberg movie?
yep. [SUBPLOT SPOILERS!!! lol...] she was the lady who kept rejecting Tom Hanks' application. The Baggage guy fell in love with her on some secret admirer shit, Tom Hanks helped him spit at her and since they were both Trekkies, they had a sweet Star Trek themed wedding in the third act.
