I dig it :)Mike
Hmm. I'd have figured Herman for a short board...Great as usual. I like the subtle reflection at the end of the board in the first panel. The second panel, though, seems to need more of a background. The big, empty space in the upper left diminishes the Herman's really great energetic pose lust a little bit.(his pose looks a little like a 'shooter' on an aircraft carrier:) )
knowing nothing at all about surfing, I will point out that the board being long was in the script.:Dyou're right of course about the second panel. my original intent was to have a Silver Surfer poster on the wall, with Herman aping the Surfer's pose. But all the reference I could find was really lame, and I wasn't interested in drawing an original Surfer image.I may add some speed lines or something when I letter the page, but for the most part, this is it.I appreciate your comments. These pages are so much stronger than the previous books I've done for the client, and I'm happy to continue to try and improve for future comics!
I always mean to ask you whenever you post of these pages...when is this coming out?
@Ez- probably never. The company that commissioned me for this story doesn't print books per se... They use these as part of an educational program. It's a computer product they sell to school districts and similar clients designed to help kids who are reading below their grade level. if the client changes their minds and decides to print them, I'll let y'all know!
