After watching Bavu freestyle on a weekly basis at H3 (Hip Hop Humpday, a weekly live show at the Mercury), I was excited to get something I could bump in the g-ride, aka my red neon (RIP). I found Bavu to be a solid introspective rhymer committed to quality wordplay, and this song (like many others) reinforces and continues to inspire my belief in productivity as the saving grace of the creative indivdual. Almost a decade later, he's still one of my favorite emcees!
